About
In 2022 the CSA Committee is considering starting a Juniors League for mixed 13 to 15yo boys and girls.
The league would focus on social modified pitch softball for fun, fitness, participation and skill development in a friendly environment.
This proposal results from numerous requests from parents seeking an alternative to competitive metropolitan fast-pitch competitions. This would offer a winter pathway to softball for those too old for tee-ball.
Qualification
Boys and Girls 13 to 15 yo, ie players must be between 13 and 15 years old (under 16) at the first round of the season - 15 April 2022
No State softball level players permitted.
Games & Season
Same season dates as CSA
10am Saturdays before CSA rounds
75 minute duration
at Centenary Park

Rules
The CSA rules would apply as per the by-laws with some changes:
- Mixed boys and girls teams
- 75 minute game duration
- Play to even digs, no new dig starting within the last 10 minutes.
- 40 ft pitching distance
- CSA modified pitching rules
- Use full size 11" balls
- Bat through the line up or 3 outs whichever comes first.
- Fielding position rotation system to be applied to ensure player participation and development.
- No infield fly calls
- dropped third strike applies
- Stealing is allowed
- Bunting is allowed
- Pitchers must wear face guards
- All players require mouth guards or face guards
- Maximum 12 players per team

$500 per team, max 12 players per team
Covers: insurance, player registration
Requirements to proceed
To enable the competition to proceed, the committee has set the following requirements:
40-48 players (4 teams)
2x volunteers on committee (coordinator & junior registrar)
4x volunteer team coaches/managers
Each game, teams will need to provide:
1x plate umpire (home team)
2x base umpire (away team)
1x scorer
Note - volunteers that aren't player's parents/guardians will need Working With Children Checks.
