Illegal Bat Use at CSA
It has recently been identified that multiple teams playing in the CSA winter competition have been using illegal bats. Due to these recent incidents, CSA is reaffirming the requirements for bat compliance and issuing a general and final warning to all teams and players within this Association.
Below are the bat requirements for CSA as per their by-laws. When registering all members tick the box saying that they have read and understand the By-laws. Please ensure all bats are checked and confirmed as legal before being used at CSA as per the Bylaws
https://canningsoftball.teamapp.com/clubs/321961/documents/1517281-csa-by-laws 33.
Bat Requirements All bats used in CSA games must meet Softball Australia regulations and be listed on the current WBSC–SD or USA Softball approved bat lists. Bats must display the correct certification logos (e.g. WBSC, USA/ASA) and must not appear on any banned bat list.
If a bat has an approved logo but is not on the official lists, the owner must obtain proof from the manufacturer or retailer confirming it is approved, if you have not sought clarification from the company you purchased it from, then the bat will be deemed as not legal and CANNOT be used until such time as the proof from the manufacturer or retailer confirming it is approved is able to be supplied.
Responsibility It is your responsibility to ensure your bat is checked at the beginning of each season.
There is a short grace period at the start of the season, after which: Use of an illegal bat may result in fines Repeated use can lead to game forfeits (7–0)
Banned bats Some bats with ASA markings have been banned for non-compliance. For safety reasons, banned bats must not be used at all in this competition.

Late Player and Batting Requirement Rule
All players are required to bat on the day.
If a player is running late, the start of play may be delayed by up to 10 minutes, provided:
The team with the late player requests the delay, The opposing team agrees, and The umpire approves.
If the 10-minute period expires and play has commenced, and the batting team completes its full lineup without the late player arriving, that player must be removed from the lineup and is no longer eligible to participate in the game.
Under no circumstances is the absent player to be recorded as an automatic out. The by-laws clearly specify the only situations in which automatic outs may apply, and this is not one of them.
